SOME LIKE HISTORY.SOME LIKE AUTOBIOGRAPHIES.I LOVE HEARING WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN I PASS, OR WHAT HAPPENED TO SOMEONE THAT I LOVE, WHO HAS ALREADY PASSED.TRUE STORIES ALWAYS AMAZE ME.ENJOY.
This book has obviously inspired many readers, but to me it read as mostly an autobiography with a few inserts of what he saw during his NDE. I, myself had an NDE but did not get to see much of heaven. I did feel the indescribable love and acceptance unlike anything on this planet. In search of others I have read some astounding, beautiful, tear inducing stories in books that I cherish, including authors Dr. Raymond Moody and Dr. Brian Weiss. Many others as well. I'm sure this book served God's purpose but there are many more, with more to offer.
First of all this book is only about 8/10th of what the writer supposedly saw in Heaven. The rest is autobiography about him, his extended family and friends. Now let me tell you why I find very hard to believe that he really died and saw Heaven. 1. He wrote that two male angels came to his hospital room, they detached him from his tangle of tubes, than they gathered him in their arms and began to ascend on a quick journey. Maybe he is confused but when someone dies the body stays on Earth, it's only the soul that leaves. Why did the angels have to detach him from the hospital tubes for the soul to leave? Hmmmm. 2. The writer says he supposedly saw a multitude of babies from the tiniest fetus as small as his little finger and all the babies were floating. Does he suggest those fetuses will stay forever fetuses and they won't mature? Hmmm, hmmmmm.... 3. The writer saw several of his deceased family members and a friend and all he did was wave at them, never called out to them. Oh my gosh, if I see my dead parents in heaven or my best friend I would be yelling their names, I would be yelling "hey, sooooo good to see you" and such. But no, he never said a word to them. Now this is really hard to believe. Hmmm, hmmm, hmmm..... 4. The writer's name was not written in the Book of Life for that day he died so Peter had to go to God to check with Him, maybe telling God "God, you might have made a mistake here. It seems this guy's name is not in the book of life for today but he is standing here at the gate." Oh phhhhlease!!!! Does anyone really believe that? 5. After the writer allegedly returned from Heaven he didn't want to tell his family and his daughter that he saw his dead son-in-law in Heaven, being afraid he will cause confusion and sorrow. Really?????? Him being a Christian man and his family a Christian family how on Earth could it cause confusion or even sorrow to learn that a loved one who passed away is in Heaven and is doing great there? On the other hand he didn't have any problem telling his family that all he wanted to do was to go back to Heaven. So this time he didn't care if he caused great sadness and sorrow basically rejecting his family by not wanting to be with them any longer? Again, this is very unbelievable! So, what you WILL find in this book is, this guy supposedly died, supposedly went to Heaven where he saw mostly babies and fetuses and also 6 of his deceased family members and friends. At the gate he supposedly met Peter who told him his name is not written in the Book of Life for that day. Than Peter goes to God to check with God if God had made a mistake? While waiting at the gate this guy saw thousands of babies and fetuses floating just above the grass and also saw 6 of his dead family members and his best friend his son-in-law who passed away only 2 months prior. But he never calls out to them, he never talks to them all he does is waiving at them. Than Peter comes back and tells him there is no mistake, he has to go back to Earth. He wants to argue with Peter but there is no point so he finds himself back on his hospital bed. End of story. The rest is his life story which, in my opinion, is boring. I found myself scanning through the pages instead of fully reading them, that's how bad this book is. I didn't want to read about his life, I wanted to learn about Heaven. Very disappointing to say the least. Oh, another thing. I bought the Kindle version and there are about 10 pages blank in the book so some of the stories are disconnected. I would rate this book zero if I could. Why can't people just write the truth?
WOW! This book was so good. It was the best I have ever read on this subject. Marvin J Besteman, was truly a spiritual gifted man. I felt his story as I read each chapter from beginning to end. He made me feel like I was there with him seeing all of the wonderful, glory, and beautiful gates of heaven. It will uplift your spirit as you think of your love ones who are now in Heaven. I have read many many books, this one was he best for me. I came across this book after losing my mother, last year.I highly recommend this book.
It was God who had me read this. I was going to save it on my Kindle for later. When it wouldn't go to the cloud I read it. It was the reassurance of what God told me last week. """All I need is him. """Clearly I heard this as I was searching for my phone. Last week I saw an Angel who told me """ Yes, It will be all right.""" Reading this book confirmed that God was speaking to me. My granddaughter (12) Elyssa died and went to Heaven July 31,2015. We had a special bond. I miss her with all my being. I wasn't sure how to go on without her. Now I know, what I really knew all along. She is in a better place and she wouldn't want to come back. Thank You!!!
My Journey to Heaven is such an uplifting and comforting book. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has lost a loved one. The part of the book that touched me the most was the wondrous sight of so many precious babies that the author caught a glimpse of during his spectacular time spent at Heaven's Gate.If anyone reading this review has lost a child, please give yourself a gift--and purchase this book. I assure you that you will find comfort knowing that your baby is safely in heaven, and you will hold that child in your arms again someday. For anyone who may be thinking that this cannot be true--perhaps, because your child was aborted, PLEASE know, your baby is safe and alive in heaven. You will be reunited when your earthly mission is over.The author, Marvin J. Besteman, saw many loved ones and friends during his journey to heaven. I love the way he describes the sights and sounds, and the many details he shares from his experience. I'm thankful he was given the chance to share what he saw and heard while there in front of the gate of heaven.God is good. God is merciful, and His truth endures to all generations.
I SO enjoyed this book. It helped me have some peace after losing my sweet mother in which I helped my sister take care of for 26 years. She was a very special, loving and caring mother who's smile not only on her face but in her eyes would light up a room. She had a massive stroke at the age of 36 and many after that. She had very little speech for 32 years but her smile spoke volumes. God showed us his miracles through her in those 32 years with all she had gone through. Only given 10% chance to live, on many occasions, but He had other plans for her. Seeing all she would go through and still be smiling and never complaining and always loving Jesus. Our God is an awesome God. Thank you for this book. It gives me comfort in knowing she is, walking on her own, smiling, talking non stop, I'm sure....brings tears to my eyes. Peace to my heart. Thanks again for sharing your visit to the gates.
