Wonderful information for honorably discharged US veterans ... as the title implies, many secrets are disclosed that could benefit those who qualify for added compensation and DON'T EVEN KNOW IT!!!! I'll add one more "secret" not listed in the book: anyone determined to be 30% disabled or higher is entitled to mileage compensation for medical treatments to and from the VA. Look into it at your facility's Membership and Benefits office.
This was well written. Very easy to follow and understand. I have passed this book title on to a few Veterans that will also find it very useful. My personal experience with the VA is a "mixed bag". I am very grateful for all the benefits they provide me with. They just don't make it easy to receive them. I am a Vietnam Combat Vet. Without the VA, and all they have done for me......I would be "screwed". If it were not for people like Victoria L. Collier, the trial and error method most Vets have to go through, is sometimes longer than their lifetime.
This is believable. It's true. We were in Ga, last month and looked her up, could believe she actually had her office in Ga.. it's a lot like trying to get disability, after being rejected and being told you don't qualify, you get a Laywer, and then the VA or Social security sit up and take notice of you. This is legitimate lawyer, and we are going to use her to help my husband get his benefits. The lawyers that are the only ones you want to help you, are the ones, who specializes in this, which you can get from her office and they only get paid when you get paid..
The secrets can be found anywhere on the internet so I really didn't need this book but I took a chance - don't buy this look up the info on veteran internet sites and save the money
After requesting information from other veterans about references that could be used by all veterans regarding benefits, and being told that "For Service To Your Country" was highly recommended, it was passed along that "47 Secret Veterans' Benefits for Seniors" was another source of information that could be used by veterans as they grew older. A good reference.
This relatively new book was written by a lawyer with considerable experience dealing with VA issues. As an older veteran it is helpful to find information that focuses on my specific issues and problems. This book should also be read by spouses so they understand what is available in benefits, services, and ongoing claims. Bought the book to help out a veteran who is in need of medical care. There are benefits available, but only if you have disabilities from serving or were wounded during that service. Even though it didn't give me an avenue to help a friend, it clarified many things. The book was delivered promptly and in good shape.
There is alot of information in this book that would take hours on line looking for and that the VA rep's don't tell you or don't explain well. Once I read this I was able to help my husband navigate the system....great resource...
