Informative and precise for a guide book. After reviewing all the guides available, this is the cheapest option that will still provide you with every topic covered by MBLE.
Many (many) years ago while working through college, one of us got certified as a massage therapist...and then immediately moved to another state with different requirements. Fortunately things are much more standardized these days and the availability of test materials far more focused. This new 2019/20 version gets to the crux of the important questions likely to be encountered. Solid study guide for new practitioners or those requiring a brush up for licensing and/or certification purposes.
Free DVD offer on inside cover with the study guide makes this an excellent study guide. The study guide provides information from seven different sections. With a practice test with 100 questions. I found this guide useful. I recommend buying if you are planning to take the MBLEx Test.
This book is most appropriate for someone looking to become a massage therapist. I liked how everything in the book was structured, like how the questions and the answers follow right after.
I like that the layout is clear and the book is easy to read. The information is comprehensive and thorough, and the wide variety of questions on the practice test is great. I really like that the answer keys explain why each of the wrong answers are incorrect, as opposed to just saying which choice was correct without anymore information. This aids in learning & understanding.
This is a large (240 pages) review of the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam. I am a nurse by trade, and find reading over books like this to actually help me with what I do. It covers the requirements for this license, and delves a bit into the History of Swedish Massage. If you want to be a licensed massage therapist, you would benefit greatly from working through this book. You can order a supplemental DVD of essential test tips on a DVD, which is included in the cost of this book.It covers Ethics, something everyone should be familiar with, your Scope of Practice, Body Mechanics, Human Systems, therapies, and how to assess someone. Each section (And there are more than those I mentioned) ends with practice questions. While you had all this and more in school, everyone needs to review their knowledge, and this book helps identify weaknesses you may have. The practice questions help with something many people have - test anxiety. I have gone to a Massage Therapist and have a better understanding of what they do after going over this book.This is a well done, concise review. I received this copy from the publisher. This product is very helpful for me. Especially the way the muscles are listed with their origin, and insertion. I wish the rest of the muscles were listed though, and the pictures were more descriptive. It could also use more pictures in areas other than just the body systems.
