Well presented information - language is not too complex but they use the actual proper terms for everything, while keeping the conversation on kids level, with just enough silly elements. Very educational for kids and adults - good overview of facts, how and why, and what to do to prevent the spread of germs and sickness. Five year old likes it, and asks follow up questions, and talks about the learned material
I homeschool my first grader and I love this whole series! i am basically using them to teach science because he reads them over and over on his own and seems to really absorb the information.This particular one is really good for the basics of microbiology, get it along with "a drop of blood"

This is a good book that talks about spreading germs but I thought it would talk about the actual germs more. Instead it focuses on social interactions.
We really enjoy reading these book and it is full of awesome information as with all of the "Read and Find-Out Science" books. My only wish is that included reinforcements on HOW to help keep the germs AWAY...wash hands...cover coughs and sneezes...etc. Still a VERY good book and will open discussion on how to help keep the germs away...sometimes it is just good to hear it from someone other than your mother:) Recommended.
Used this for a 1st grade hand washing presentation I had to design and implement for my nursing BSN. It worked ok, but was a little wordy for the kids, and they lost focus half way through. If you are using it for another purpose, it would be great.
I got such a kick out of the reviewer who said he thinks disease is cause by sin! THAT guy should write a book.IMO, 'Germs Make Me Sick' tells kids what they need to know. It's not a text book on virology/bacteriology, ... well, ... maybe a FIRST text. The grown-ups still have a role to play by telling kids about hand washing & chicken soup. But this is a fun way to help them remember what they need to know and be just a little safer than they'd be without that knowledge.
I used this for a hand washing lesson presented to a first grade class for a nursing school project. The kids loved the book, and it was a great way to get them talking about their own experiences and what they knew and didn't know about germs and being sick.
